Enhancing Services for Individuals with Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities
Several agencies are providing a level of support to persons with Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities, discover ways that you can enhance those services and ensure that you are providing the best level of service. Relationships Matter
Everything we do involves relationships. They play a very important role in our day to day lives. It impacts us in our personal and professional lives. We all have the desire to be in a relationship, whether it’s a friendship, romantic, platonic, working, or family relationship. It is a human desire to want to be loved and needed. Sometimes that desire is so strong that one may seek that connection in an unhealthy relationship. Learn how strong the desire to be in a relationship can impact our lives and the client’s life both short term and long term. Learn how building relationships can impact our lives on a professional level.

Effective communication is at the center of all that we do. Sometimes we leave these conversations frustrated, confused, or accomplished. Do we take time and reexamine ourselves and see if we are truly communicating effectively? Are we holding two-way conversations or are we just doing all the talking? Learn how to effectively communicate with those that you encounter and how communication affects our residents and those that we work with.

A training especially designed for individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities. This training will discuss safety in the community, personal boundaries, relationships, and friendships.
