Erica has worked in several capacities in the last 22 years, awarding her a wealth of knowledge and providing her with tools to engage with people in various parts of the field. She is currently the Personal Supports Interim Director in the Developmental Disability Division of Humanim Inc.  She has also worked as an Intake & Case Coordinator and Division Trainer at Mosaic Inc., a Resident Service Coordinator with Housing Authority of Baltimore City and a Relocation Specialist with The Community Builders.  She uses this firsthand experience and knowledge of relevant laws and policy to create training resources and workshops. She has presented at several human service agencies, housing developments, and conferences, as well as the Department of Social Services. Her dynamic presentation style engages and informs attendees, as she threads in real-world scenarios, small-group activities, and discussion. She invites the audience into a conversation about best practices for improving a person’s quality of life. She prides herself in creating audience-centered content, catering her training approach to the client and their needs. Her goal with each session is to empower participants to see their invaluable role in the human services field, and the responsibility that comes with it.

Erica recognizes the importance of clear, empathetic, and respectful communication in her approach to training, as well as her interactions with clients. She leads by example, using her past experiences and presentation style to illustrate this importance to others. She also emphasizes the importance of trust and building productive relationships. Through her training style, she works to create a safe space for participants to discuss these topics, while learning techniques for building these relationships with their clients.

 

She offers a variety of training opportunities, including work retreats, team-building activities, staff development, one-on-one consultation, and online group training. Though located in the Maryland area, she is available for online training and travel opportunities. Erica welcomes the chance to help your team with stepping forward towards success for your organization and your  clients.

With over 20 years of experience and a number of peer-reviewed and invited presentations under her belt, Erica Goldman is a seasoned consultant and training specialist in the Human Services field. Throughout her various work experiences, including work with public housing, human service agencies, and smoking cessation programs, she has developed a passion for helping others. She uses her knowledge and voice to advocate for others and holds a special place in her heart for youth, senior citizens, and people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. She believes strongly in mentoring and educating others on how to work with these and other populations to improve their quality of life, while also exhibiting respect and understanding.
